HELP!! wierd rattle sound in rear - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

Hey everyone, hopefully someone can help. For about a month now my car has had a real annoying rattle sound somewhere in the rear. It still runs smoothly and perfect as the 3vzfe manual should. However, the noise is really noticeable from the outside, it makes my car sound so shitty. I've done so much to try to find out what it is. Has anyone else had this.

oh yeah, it started when i put my obx racing muffler on, so i figured there was a rattle of some sort in my exhaust, but a guy looked at it and thinks otherwise. any help?

I have that same problem. My exhaust note rattles something on the inside of my car. I can't figure out what it is either. I don't really care though because you can't hear it from the outside. Sorry I can't help you.

Most likely it has something to do with the exhaust. It might be loose or you might have a hole in it.

I had the same problem all I did was check for the welds on the exhaust heat sheild and one of them was broke causing it to rattle like crazy, so I welded it back on....just that simple! (If you know how to weild that is....LOL)

My prob is almost the same, when the bass hits and the car is off, that is the only time that you can hear it on the outside cant really hear it on the inside, something rattles under the car it sounds like loose bolts kinda, ohh no cars coming apart

, but anyways it seems to be coming from between the gas tank and the bottom of the car, it is really hard to pinpoint even when i get under the car but i cant get to it or see it so i really dont know.
any ideas?
