3rd Generation Clicking due to valves?

I have a 95 I4 Camry that I've been working on lately. There was one point about a year ago I ran it with the oil cap off for a while (week or 2)before i found out about it. (oil change at Walmart...) Since then the engine is noisier and has an odd clicking sound. I've done a lot of work recently to clean the throttlebody and good maintenence but the clicking is deffinitely comming from the valve cover.

Did I wear out my cam or something that needs to be replaced or can I adjust the valve spacing (friend told me this one) to try to get rid of this? The car used to be SILENT while running, and I'd like to try to get back to that.

Thanks!

Pull the valve cover and see whats going on.

Check the valve lash too while your at it.
