I noticed that there seems to be some slight weepage around the oil pan area. Is this a common thing? I tightening up the bolts just a tad bit but I didn't take the impact to them.
If it gets worse, how difficult is it to change out the gasket? Is it just a simple unbolt, clean off old gasket, install new gasket with sealer and then bolt back on job?
If it stays as it is now, I don't see a reason to mess with it because it's not noticeable on the dipstick readings.
Don't take the impact to them...I'd use a torque wrench to spec them up. Autozone will lend you one for free.
I personally would fix it. It is a straightforward procedure with RTV sealant on the 1mzfe (the only haynes I have). I'm sure you have a haynes/chiltons...you've been on the boards long enough to know you need one . Consult that first, then conquer.

Good luck.

Oh the impact thing was just a joke. That would be serious overkill for those.
I never even thought about consulting the manual. It just sits in the trunk of the car, I rarely look at it.
In fact, I have a torque wrench, which isn't used much either.
If it is weeping, the gasket is bad. It's only going to get worse from there. I'd say replace it/get it replaced soon. The torn gasket could very well because by over-tightening.
Replacing it requires draining all the oil (every last drop), removing the pan, scraping the gasket off the block (if anything is stuck to it), then block sanding the gasket surface, add some sealant and put on the new gasket. Torque it to spec and your good to go

are you sure it is coming from the pan and not front seals or rear main seal. if it is at the front of the engine timing belt area could be crank, oil pump or cam seals. Just something else to think about. The oil pan doens thave a gasket if I remember right just black RTV sealant, as BullMarket stated.

Yeah, it's coming from around the gasket area all around the oil pan.
one other thing I jsut thought of Dont forget about the oil cooler. I would recommend cleaning it off very good and drive it a little bit jsut to make sure. You would hate to be doing work that isnt needed. Oil leaking from the oil cooler can run down onto the pan and then look as if it is coming from the pan.

Oh man, I didn't even know I had an oil cooler on the car! I should really read the Haynes manual that I bought for the car!
