Headlights are dim.

I've got a problem with my headlights being rather dim, up to the point where they're almost non-existent. My car's a 1999 Camry CE, i've got the original lightbulbs, battery and alternator. The headlight intensity does not change with engine speed, so i don't think the batt is dead, and the alt. seems to be working fine.

What i do know is that my headlights are aimed too high, and will be making the adjustments tomorrow evening. What i'd like to know is if headlight bulbs lose their intensity over time? What are the possible causes, assuming that changing the bulbs doesn't help. Thanks.

you can also use nail polish remover with acetone, i've heard that works well.

I think your battery is very weak, I had the same problem before, my dad changed the battery and it was all good.... make sure you get your alternator checked too

That's what i was thinking.....especially since it's still the Panasonic battery that came with the car.

Well, checked the battery and alternator, and they're fine. I think i'll try new bulbs and see what happens. The ones on the car right now are the originals from Japan.
