Question Engine Rebuild Question(s)

Any advice on rebuilding an engine. Any info on it. Any thing i need to know before the deed is done and my pockets goes empty again?? Whats the best kit to get? How long would it take to get it done at the shop? How much in total to rebuild the engine? Is it worth rebuilding the engine before turboing it? Am i annoying you with all these questions? Haha k thanks!!!!

no your not annoying some people are just dicks... it cost me $2200 to have mine done... and yes you would need to rebuild or atleast upgrade your internals for a turbo... your the search method to find better answers

And NO you don't have to. It all depends on how many miles you have, your compression ratio, and how much boost you're planning to run. It's NOT mandatory for small amounts of boost like 5psi.

Now if you're going to go BEYOND 5psi, then YES, I highly suggest that you rebuild. BUT before anything else, check your compression.

no everyone knows about the search option... just as you didnt when you were new to the site... AND come on... how many people do you know put a turbo and JUST run 5psi?...give me a break... you know you dont run that low of a psi... when i had my civc i kept it at 15 for daily driving... you will blow your engine... boost is adicting....

Because, if he doesn't want to spend a TON of money on the rebuild and he doesn't have to. Yes, I know boost is addicting BUT to have a daily drivable car you will have to set it at a low boost setting. The 5s-fe is NOT a HIGH boost friendly motor, especially if the motor has a lot of miles.

5psi is a safe area. You can go as high as 8psi but I would't recommend it. I doubt he's going out there trying to beat up on STi's or EVO's.
