3rd Generation tail light removal sort of....

decided i wanted to take the bulbs out of the rear parking lights (the bulbs closer to the center of the car, next to the reverse lights, in the center "CAMRY" piece) because they're useless and i like the look of the gen 3.5's (i think) that dont have it. ever since i took the bulbs out, i get the rear light failure light in my gauge cluster. i'd rather not pull the bulb out from behind my cluster bc i know how much fun pulling the dash apart is....so im wondering if theres any other way to beat the warning light or stop the lights from coming on when i turn my parking lights on. any suggestions?

How about you put some tape over it...

Seriously.. you need to put the bulb back in.. it's no useless.. or else they wouldn't have put it there..

Your going to see the light no matter what. unless you fiddle with the wiring harness

you can try finding off eBay a rear center panel off a 3.5 camry. they are totally interchangable. in order to beat the warning light, you can just put in some dummy lights that are either super dim or just don't work at all. i think the warning light doesn't engage when there is something in the light socet. if you are willing to change your center panel, you might need to somehow conceal your current harnesses and just attach them somewhere so that they don't fall out or hang out...yea.

Well I took out mine when I sprayed my center panel and all i did was just take out the indicator bulb from in the cluster. It really isn't that hard to do all that. I take apart that shit all the time. Takes you like a min.

Aparently none of you know about the lamp failure module that is in all of our camry's. There is a module located behind the carpet on the driver side in the trunk. It can be many different colors but is about 2" square box. This module is detects if a bulb is bad. If you want to pull those bulbs out or change your tail section, you need to get a module from a 95-96 camry. There is also a rating on them. If you have a spoiler, you will need one that says 27Wx2, 8Wx2. If you do not, get the one that also says 18Wx1. That *x2 signifies how many bulbs you have. Our 92-94 would normally say 27Wx4, 8Wx4, and 18Wx1(if you don't have a spoiler). I am trying to sell one on ebay that is from a 95-96 with spoiler.

I like having 4 red lights in the rear. If there is only 2, then if one goes out you can get pulled over for having a whole side out. However, with 4 lights, if I loose one I still have one on that side one so i can drive around like that until i get around to replacing it.

Maybe just me though. . .
