i don't think a simple engine swap will help you that much. but hay i could be wrong. after watching "INITAL D" i beleive is not what you drive is how you drive.

an engine swap will help out ... Because it will open up alot more aftermarket support for you... I.e. headers, turbo upgrade, pistons, and rods...
The F head does show promise, it has its potential. It can and will make power, but this will require alots of tunning. All you have to remember the F head works on heat. The more heat you can create when you burn the fuel the better. Its just the way the head was designed. I can speak for the 5S-FE but cannot vouche for the rest of the F head family.
Horsepower , I mean real horsepower doesnt show up till you start tweaking your ignition and your fuel maps. The G head is made for performance and was made for racing purpose. It has awesome flow charateristics in stock form. Plus, you actually get the dohc not scissor drive one.
Like I said an engine swap would do you good. It will instantly lower your quarter mile time from 18 seconds to low15's - high16's, depending on the driver. If you put that in a second per dollar ratio. I think thats pretty good. I mean the swap cost me $5,200.00 US Dollars. A TRD Supercharger cost $3,000+ not including installation. The Camry V6 runs 15.9 stock with a good driver and with the s/c it runs 15.0 to 14.9 ... Thats a second for every $3000 dollars ratio... Doesnt sound too good. So, if you really weight the bang for the buck ratio into the equation , the engine swap is a great deal... Is one of the best way of making your Camry a competitor on the streets.
