Camry Mods

I have a 98 camry LE and all I've done to my car has been for appearance(enkei's). I'm looking for a CAI, headers, exhaust combo that will fit this car. All the TRD stuff I've seen has been for V6's.

Has anyone modded their car that owns a V4 LE? And if so what did you do to it? How much did it cost? How noticeable was it?

Word of advice: Do your research before posting or your asking to get flamed badly. I don't flame, I'm just helping you out.

Yes there are mods for the 4cyl camry. They are not called V4's, because the cylinders are not setup in a V formation as the V6 is. Your engine can best be described as a INLINE 4, i4, because the cylinders are in a inline formation.

Currently, only short ram air intakes are available to purchase for the i4. CAI is a DIY project that has its instructions posted several times on this site. ( USE SEARCH BUTTON). Exhaust combos are available, headers to mufflers. Check summitracing.com.

Intake and exhaust mods will only give maximum hp increase of 10hp, if your lucky.

Real hp increases, 50+, come only with engine upgrade, turbos/ s/c, and of course nitrous. But before you hit the big time, check out Howstuffworks.com, to learn more about how your car actually, works.

By understanding how your car works, you will better understand how to increase its performance.

Anymore questions, feel free to ask. [/b]

Intake and exhaust will not give up to 10hp. Probably 5hp at the most. That's with open intake and open exhaust. You could go the nitrous route.

I know people that have dyno'd in with around 7-10hp increase after a intake and exhaust mod only. Your absolutely right though, 2-4hp, is the normal, with lose in the low range rpms. Its really a quality dependant mod. Some peoples "CAI" don't deserve the title if you know what I mean. Many variable come into play when hp is concerned.
