Ok, my car was fine earlier today. I drove it to the mall and work, everything was fine until now. About an hour ago, I tried starting my car and all I got was a rapid click, click, click sound. The headlights, and interior lights were very dim, my power door locks barely worked. Everything was working earlier today until now, and I have to work first thing next morning. Maybe its time to change the battery? My car is a 1998 Camry LE V6 w/60k miles on it. I have never had this problem before. If its the battery, what special precautions should I take before purchasing a new one? Thankx for reading.
The clicking indicates either a weak battery or poor connections at the battery terminals/posts. Check the terminals first to make sure they are clean and tight. If they are, and the car starts with a jump from another car, then it is your battery.
Thankx for the help guys. I took my battery out yesterday and had it checked by schucks auto parts, it was read at 10.5 something, something. So I purchased a new battery, and now everything is fine. Everything seems alot brighter in my car now.

clean your batter posts, and your battery cables, make sure they are good and clean, i think you can put petroleum jelly on teh posts and cables also to prevent corrosion, make sure teh whole battery is clean, if the corrosion is bad, take the cables off, and pour a mixture of baking soda and water on top to eat the corrosion, if you dont have baking soda, coke or other sodas work good also, just was off the soda really good.
