Okay, so I got tired of the endless rattling in my rear deck from the speakers, so I decided to do something about it. Instead of getting some fancy sound-deadening materials, I went the ghetto route. Here is what I did:
The Materials:
Foam Seat Cusions from Wal-Mart (16"x16"x1")
Spray-Glue
Sponges
Electrical Tape
Pics:
A few of the materials
The Car (lol)
Taped down all wires and connectors (note: also converted trunk light to 15" red neon.)
Sponges to fill in gaps before foam was put over it all.
The Foam
Call it rice, call it ghetto, whatever I don't care, it doesn't rattle anymore. Just solid thump from the speakers. Sounds like a Lexus now.....lol. Just figured I'd share in case anyone else felt the need to do the same.

Okay, about the rear deck, it was a bitch to get back on tight. Maybe that is why it doesn't rattle. It took a crap load of slamming my hand into it, and a few kicks, to get it to go back, but yea it finally went. And the glue sucks, use your own judgement on that one. I mean, it stuck a little, but if I went again I would use rubber cement or something like that, spray glue just doesn't cut it.
Oh and about the underwear hanging in the background, I almost fell out of my chair laughing when I saw that. Ya'll can use that for time refrence I guess lol, "done in the time it takes to hang out the days wash" haha.
WOOOHOOOO! I'M BORO! haha

great idea for cost effective results. I did somethign of the same effect. In my avalon, the rear sub space was open because I took out the factory one and added 2 subs in the trunk. I used a seat foam (1in thck, 1x1.5ft). It went right over the hole and works great. Good job on your diy and getting them pix with the background images
lol yes, thinner would have been better for reinstalling the rear deck, but since this isn't really "sound-deadening" foam, the results would not have been as good.
