Anyone have experience with LED replacement bulbs?

I'm considering getting those 30 LED light bulb replacements off ebay. They're white but another guy on ebay claims you need his red bulbs behind a red lens, and even has pics to back it up....
I've had red leds behind a red lens and almost got rearended..but the one guy seems very insistant
comments? Anyone tried these?

def. go with red behind red and amber behind amber. It works a lot better. Also don't forget that you'l prob need resistors for each bulb to stop your blinkers from blinking fast.

Don't they also cause the "tailight out" light to come on?
