Does anyone know if you can change the bumper of a 97 camry, the one with the ugly grille, to the 2000 bumper with the nicer grille. Or even if you can just snap out the 1997 grille and snap in the 2000 grille? It would be interesting to see if it fits, it would clean up the styling a lot

so you wanna do a gen 4 to gen 4.5 conversion? i would imagine if you take out the grille, the 4.5 won't fint unless you fully convert your headlights and bumper, and possibly hood. i think the fenders remained the same but i am not sure. either way, unless you wanna heavily modify the 4.5 grille to fit, i wouldn't recomend it. or you can just do a full 4.5 conversion which i have seen done before. good luck!

95WhiteCamry is correct. The bumper, bumper cover, headlight assemblies and grill would all have to be replaced. This is usually cost prohibitive, unless you can find a 95 or 96 Camry at a salvage yard that has been hit in the rear or side so that the front end is completely intact. Then you would still be looking at the cost to strip and repaint the bumper cover to match your car's color.
