UK Smt6/7

Hi guys, I'm looking at the engine managment for my year 00 1mz-fe engine. I think I'm gonna go for the smt6 poss the smt7. Is anyone on here running this set up and if so what are there pros and cons. We are also working on a home made supercharger for the car although in it's early stages, will the smt be ok on this set up.

Thanks in advance

Phil.

Cool

I am. Definately it will be. More accurate than an SAFC / e-manage when it's tuning a 05 010v singal, and many times more features.

Search my name and SMT-6 install. That'll turn it up for a 3vz-fe, but you can go over the basic tricks with it. I tend to grossly over-write things so don't get scared off...

It's just candy compaired to everything else. Basically it's installing a Unichip tha you get to play with all you want, and for half the cost.

Just remember that it's a piggyback so you'll need to retain an ECU. Tho it can be a fairly effective cheap little stand-alone for a 4cyl engine. It can only piggyback larger ones.

Thanks mate, thats a great write up. Tony the Tiger says it's not compatable with a 1mz-fe engine though I have been onto Perfect Power and they tell me that the smt7 might be applicable, but they want to know how many teeth on my pick up wheel. Is it 36-1?

Cool

Well I think it will (originally i didn't think so).

It's extremely popular on 5vz-fe distributorless ignitions. Which is the same basic system (different part #'s) that the 1mz-fe runs. Theoretically that means it'll work on any of my mz's. 1mz, 2mz, or 3mz.
