I ran a 16.1 w/ my v6 manual. This is w/ no mods. If anyone knows of a few cheaper mods that i can do to boost hp lemme know.

What year is your car? Camry or Solara?

Anyway, I haven't had a chance to run any of my cars. If I were to find out my 1/4 mile time and 0-60, it would be with a GTech meter.

That was IrishGuyute1, not IrishJerf.

The fastest time I've heard of for a stock Gen3 V6 5-speed was like 15.3...some guy on TeamSC3 ran that....

Nah, never put the car on a track...I would probably expect low 16's to mid 16's as my car is running pretty well...or so I think. I have done some 0-60 times with a timex watch, pretty consistent times of 8.5 secs or so! I have yet to measure out a 1/4 mile on a nice flat road...haha....

How many times did you run that day? Were all your times consistent? How is your car running? I think that 15.3 is like the best case scenario...all the conditions were probably near perfect cuz that's an awesome time. I would expect a 5 speed V6 to run mid to high 15's at best. Heck, supercharged Camry's run only in the low 15's, high 14's at best.

Oh, to address your first question...for cheaper mods, I would do maintenance first...i.e. clean throttle body, add oil supplements and fuel injector cleaners, change oil and tranny fluids (syn), check tire pressure, reduce weight, tune up engine (change plugs, wires if necessary).

Other than that, cheapest mod is probably adding an intake, best bet is going custom CAI. After that, there's changing the y-pipe, high flow cat and catback exhaust system...all cost a bit more money. Then after that, who knows? Port and polish...custom headers? Electric fan? Our rad fan is run hydralically...and electric fan should help a bit. I would think anything after that would get pretty pricey....the 3VZ has absolutely no aftermarket products... : ..that's why I concentrate on looks instead.

I ran a 16.2 in my v6 automatic when it was 100F out. I think if the temps were closer to 50F I can run a 15.7 at the same track.
