Is this true.....????

Is it true that if i drop my car it'll break parts like some suspension parts, or put pressure on anything??? What do you guys who droped your car think? I bought Eibach 1.2" lowering springs, i have a gen3 4 cylinder cam. But my friends are warning me not to drop it.

the only thing that might get hurt is your struts.

Yeah, just make sure to get a set of Tokico struts when you lower the car.

It might be harder to change your oil. You might have to use a jack.

lowering

it depends on what type of body kit you get. with or without sideskirts? how low do you plan on going? with my bodykit, i always have to take off my sideskirt to get the jack underneath. but i am also four inches off the ground. it sounds to me you won't be lowering your car enough to have to worry about any body kit problems.

Those people are on crack!!

As for lowering your car, you are changing your suspension geometry. Theoretically, this does put added stress on suspension parts such as your CV joints. In real life, however, this added stress is within tolerance.

Lowering also increases negative camber, which can cause the inside of tires to wear out faster.

In any case, if you are so concerned, better not do anything. :-?

The only thing it'll hurt is...

your head and your ass if you get only springs. The ride'll be bouncy as many others have said. The camber kit can help with uneven tire wear due to negative camber, but that's usually needed with a big drop. Take the TRD strut/spring kit. It doesn't require a camber kit.

my bro has a teg with a full kit a droped two inches... instead of taking off the side skirts what he does it take a block of wood (piece of 2x4 works for him) and drive up on it, then the jack fits under perfectly

For the 1.2" drop,

I don't think that's dramatic enough to require a camber kit to correct the camber. And yes, you're on the right track in getting struts.

first of all, eibach springs are near stock in spring rates, and second of all- ITS ONLY 1.2". your struts might wear faster, but you wont notice it, and neither will they if you get sprint springs, whose spring rates are much harder, your struts will take a much harder push/pull action when u hit a bump- this is what causes them to go bad (no strut lasts forever). also u will get a bounce with these because your low comp struts cant cut it.

i have intrax springs on stock struts. the ride is perfectly fine. no bounce. good cornering. stock ride quality. i did the install myself, so there was no $$ for installation, and i will eventually get some aftermarket struts or hopefully a full coilover system like the JIC in the future..

the only reason why you would want to wait to get struts is because they can be installed at the same time as the springs, saving u 200 on installation. if you are doing it yourself, then who cares

my $.02- jon
