3rd Generation Camry starts and dies... Help?

Alright. Long time since I've posted but I am coming here for your guys' knowledge. So my Gen 3 Camry with 167,xxx mi. twice in the past two months has just died on me after I started it. I would start it up and it will die right away. It will take another two tries for it to start correctly and idle fine. Anyone know what may be going on? Any help with my question would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

I had this problem. Try in this order:

1. Clean out your throttle body (search for DIY)
2. Test fuel pump rely switch (this solved my stall problem)
3. Others have said on this forum, it was their ETC senor

could be your distributor or rotor, fuel injectors, there's several things that it could be, try to take it to a shop or the dealership to find out for sure

I'm voting for fuel pump possbility....

has it stalled while the car was in motion? or only immediately after start?

Thats a good thought. It will only die right after start, not while in motion... (knocks on wood
)
