I want to do a full tranny flush on my 97 V6 camry and from what I understand is that I need to jack the car up on stands and unhook the hose on the driver side? and let it pour out the old fluid into a bucket while the car is in park? Correct me if I am wrong, has anyone done this before? I have over 150 miles on my camry and it is a daily driver. Every since I bought the car I have not doen this to the tranny but last time I check the fuild it was really brown and I think it might need a full flush with fresh fluid. And what would be the best ATF fuild to buy?. If any one knows how to do this step by step I would greatly appreciate your feedback.
I did mine @ the dealership.
it was a flush for $99
About ur posting, do a search.
Also, i would get toyota radiator coolant as opposed to any generic brand. Lots of posting about why u should keep to toyota coolant..
search...
Well I wasn't talking about the coolant flush I was talking about tranny fluid flush but yeah I just don't have 99 bucks to shell out out of my pocket....I'm a poor college kid so bummer .
yuo can alsow make two normal fluid changes, change the fluid (drain and refill) than drive a few miles, and change it the secound time, the fluid will be chnages to 80-90 % i did it sow in my Camry 93 V6...
truthfully, i would save up the $99 bucks to have it flushed.. it's not $99 for a "drain and fill", something you would do.. it's an actual flush, they hook you up to a machine that flushes out the old and in the new, so there is no chance of having older fluid in there, and this do this while running the car, so everything gets flushed... it makes a huge difference from a drain and fill to a flush.. but if not, best of luck with it.
yeah, i wanna do a tranny flush on my car too. my 99 camry 4 cyl has 90k on it. It's probably a good time to do it. i saw that Midas has a tranny flush that's $84.99. i'm thinking about going there and doing it, unless i find a cheaper reliable place.

why not do it at a dealership. any problems, it is usually easier to talk to them.
there are always coupons on toyota.com. need to look for them.
Toyota.com > Find Dealer > Enter Zip Code > Dealer's website > Parts and Coupons.
if that dealer does not have it, try another dealer. usually they will honor coupons from the same state. usually...

I agree. I would advise to save up the cash and get it flushed with the machine. You don't want to buy a new tranny down the road and a flush under pressure makes a difference. I had mine done at a valvoline shop and it was around $80 to flush and fill. They connect to the two ports at the front of the engine. It also doesn't take very long using this method.
