Cutting Eibach spring... Good/Bad idea?

I found a great deal on Camry Eibach springs.. But I have a Solara....

I heard that Camry Eibach springs won't lower the Solara as it would with the Solara Eibach springs...

So do you guys think maybe I can cut the Camry Eibach spring?? Just a little??

I have one coil cut eibach springs on my car for 10K miles now. The ride is stiff but handling is awesome and it looks good (2" drop, 1 finger gap in front and 0 finger gap at rear).

I know the risk of "messing up my suspension" but I did it anyway and it works fine for me...no problem so far (1 year, 10K miles)

and no it's not gonna make your car bounce a lot as weaponx said if you change the struts. If you wanna use cut eibach, make sure you change the struts because stock struts won't be able to handle the 2" drop...

It's for sale though...I'm returning my car to stock...I'll let go the eibach for $120 + shipping (negotiable), send me an e-mail at raugusta@students.wisc.edu

cutting any springs what so ever is always a bad idea. just save up for the right springs for your ride and you will be a happy camper that is if you go to camp if not than you will just be happy.

Springs were designed to support a certain weight with the number of rings and control stiffness among other things. When you alter these characteristics you comprimise your safety.

actually i would think ur better off buying the eibachs made for the solara.

as far as cutting your springs- speak from experience, not guesswork. i tried to find the right spring for my car, and it still didnt lower me as far as i wanted. i got intrax on my gen 3, front still sits up way too high. the ride might go down a little but by no means am i putting anybody in danger.... it just dont make sense.

I guess my cut springs make my car "looks" and "sounds" cheap as you guys said.....but hey I don't care, the drop is perfect for me and people seems to like my car.......at least nobody in the street think my car looks cheap

I'm talking from experience here even though I won't recommend this setup to anyone...cut it if you want and willing to take the risk....you'll be happy with the "looks" but I won't guarantee if it "mess up" your car later.....

Actually on ebay this guy was selling Camry TRD struts and TRD springs together.
Someone bought it for $525 all together... The seller claimed that these equipments had under 3000 miles on them... Oh well, I just didn't want to risk...
