Keyless Entry and Remote Start

Get this: My parents WANT me to mod my car. They want me to put a keyless entry/remote start system into my 4cyl gen 4. I went to toyota and asked them how much it would cost. They said 500. I walked out of there laughing.

So where can i get a good deal on the keyless entry and remote start?

how's that a mod?
it's more of a convenience thing.....even old grannies have one....

but moving on tho....

check independent shops....any shop that sells an alarm/starter combo can install one for you too...and the keyless entry will be no problem as long as you have power locks

I'd say it should cost around 300USD installed for one

that was funny. my granny does not have an autostart.

I bought an alarm and took it to a shop, they wanted 300$ to install the autostart alarm.

what about the systems you find at jcwhitney? i thought about adding keyless entry and an alarm system and the one at jcwhitney cost under USD100. any better or is it just not worth it?

yeah you can buy your stuff from them, but then you have to find someone to install it. dpending on the place itll probly be cheaper to just buy it there and have them install it at the same time.

i paid about $400 for mine (remote start & pager)

i had a 2 friends that paid +$500 for just the install alone

Basic installation is around $90 - $100. Thats 2 hrs. of labor at $45/hr (what most shops charge).

I scored a Fusion F-2000 off of fleeBay for $54 and had it installed for $70.

DEI Viper and Fusion are the brands I would stick to. fleeBay has Viper stuff for cheap
