Problem with rear pads

I replaced my rear brake pads today and now i can hear them rub ever so slightly. I was wondering if that is normal when you first change them. I compressed the cylinder with a c clamp in the caliper. Will they stop rubbing after i drive the car a bit and they were down a bit? Thanks in advance for the response.

So nobody has changed their own brake pads before? I was hoping to get a response.

What kind of rubbing noise is it making? What brand of pads did you use?

I had this problem on my 94 Camry with 4 wheels discs. I just replaced the rear pads for the first time and didn't bother to cut the rotors. It turns out the new aftermarket pads I used were a little bit bigger (wider) than the OEM Toyota pads and were now making contact with an area of the rotor that was rusty. It took me a while to figure this out. The noise went away in about 1000 miles of driving as the pads simply wore down the rust. This may be your problem.

I haven't noticed a rubbing sound when I've done mine, but I replaced with Toyota pads. What Mike --^-- says if you used another pad type. Another thing, maybe the caliper isn't sliding easily on its posts? Did you grease em?
