2nd Generation SV22 camry

I was just wondering, i have an sv22 camry, the carb'ed model. And was wondering short of an engine swap what can be done to it, a few friends have said you can do a ton more to it than a fuel injected model. But thought i'd ask.

ps i already searched :P

pss. how do you add your car names at the bottom of each post?

Well, any engine you swap in will have to have custom motor mounts. Also, you will need the wiring harness, auxilary pumps, and ECU. You'll probably need a tranny also.

The list: 3SFE(JDM or domestic), 5SFE, 3SGTE, 3SGE, 4AGE, 4AGZE

There will be alot of work involved and it will cost quite a bit of $$$.

Good luck and welcome to TN

^ A JDM or Domestic 3SFE/GE/GTE wouldn't bolt straight up??
Sv22 came with the 3S-F Carby engine, so..i would've assumed it would bolt straight up.

you can actually do the 3sfe or 3sge 3sgte swap quite easily as the block will use same mounts as the 3s-c. where abouts in Aust are you located?

if you're short on money, then do the 3sfe swap as that will be the cheapest, and probably be the easiest. if you're not sure about wiring it up, just go down to a wreckers and grab the whole loom off the car, i'm talking engine and interior if you have to, or even just go there and grab photos of the wiring. worst come to worse, there are a million 3sfe camry's so you wont have much problem wiring up the 3sfe.

The 3s-c or is it 3s-fc has the same block so you wont need to worry about the mounts. seriously tho, a 3sf-c to 3sfe swap will be dead easy and we can help you along the way. is ur car auto or manual?

Cheers

i'm in melbourne, i was thinking of swaping, but thought that would be alot of money, would love a celica engine tho :P, since i was trying to get one. A 3s-gte engine would be sweet, but i'm not very mechanically minded.

oh and its a manual of course :P nothing less

np userlain.

Ferrat, where abts in melb? me and JSC are both in SE Suburbs. what would be your level of mechanical know-how? i know for sure that there are at least 15 SV21 with 3sfe's in them at Jolly Rogers off Greens Road so if you ever needed a wire or loom or to take pics, you could head down there. keep in mind although i say it is simple, it will take time but more easier then others.

whats ur gearbox code? (look on ur build plate)

Cheers
