4th Generation Engine Light On (Different case!)

Hey all, I searched Engine Light on but mostly are involved with deflective O2 sensors. However, mine is kind of different, since the stock intake that I have is very dirty so I decide to clean them. I took the whole thing out and unplug the O2 sensor plug. (Btw, I just use a wet cloth to wipe it) After cleaning them, I put them on and start the engine. The engine light appear. So how to turn the engine light back off? (Don't tell me to change the O2 sensor becuase I just did it last year so it is not a O2 problem) Thanks!

full the efi fuse, wait a bit, and then put it back in and it will reset.

if it comes back on, then get the code read....it may very well have nothing to do with the 02 sensor...

^ not sure on the gen 4 1mz, but in the gen 3 it's in the engine bay...

look on the lid of the fuse boxes, and they should be marked
if you're not sure if that's the one or not, pull it out and try to start your car...if it just cranks but doesn't turn over, then you got the right one

and last but not least, you can always just pull the negative on your battery...only bad hting being it resets everything thing, including your radio presets, which gets bothersome sometimes

You know what? When I turn on my engine again, the engine light is off. But these can be my future reference in case if the light goes on again.

you can also get it off by reseting it with a computer handheld that autozone has or at a dealership.

Go to Autozone and use their scanner. It's free. I don't know of any dealership that will do anything for free.

They'll turn the light off for you. If there aren't any problems, the light will turn itself off after so many cycles.

And make sure the gas cap is on tight, that can cause a CEL to come on.
