Gen5 Stuttering Start

i have noticed for a while that with my Gen5.5 it starts strangely...
its hard to explain, but sometimes when i turn the key to start the car
it would struggle to start the engine....its like stuttering....
it will start, but the cranking of the engine doesnt sound very normal

like during a normal start, if i look at the tacho. the RPM will go up to about 1200rpm and drop down to idle.
however, when it stutters, the RPM goes to about 400rpm, pauses for a split second, then continues to idle.

Regardless of if it stutters or not, it starts first time every time.
it is a 1MZ-FE 4-sp Auto. Its was bought new, had it for like 7 months now, with approx 8000km on the clock

My 4 cyl does the same thing in the morning after its been cold for 8 hours or so... it stutters, and then starts. I asked this question before, and people just said that it was carbon build-up and that I needed fuel injection cleaner... which I used... and it didn't change it at all. Anyone have any other ideas?

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

wait a second with the key on the on pos (engine not running) and then try to start it (rebuild fuel pressure) and try ome toyota oil filters ... the ome filters have a check vlave in them the keep the oil in and close to the top the engine ... to help reduce dry starting

Is that only on Toyota oil filters??? (The check valve I mean)

That's the first I've ever heard of that, and I used to be an ASE Master Mechanic. But new technologies always arise so please verify that fact and I'll be only using OEM Toyota filters from here on out. Of course with AMSOIL running though it.

Yeah, but like I said, I've already used it and there's no change.

for me anyway, i dont think it has anything to do with the oil filter...i use Toyota OEM stuff

it doesnt only happened during a cold start for me, it happens at random times...

like yesterday i stopped the car after driving for an hour
and got out to move something for like 20 seconds, then started it again, and it stuttered....

ill try that leaving it in the 'on' position for a few secs before starting idea, and see if that works
because at the moment, i pretty much leave zero time for anything to 'charge' before start...
key in, immediately to start position
