Some stuff I need to know of

I got a 96 camry LE (4 cyl auto) I want to create a beast out of it, I got a whole lot of things I'd like to do to it, first of all I want to customize the whole interior, I already leather coated the floor in black, I'm moving to the door panels. I'm doing the door panels in 2 colors: grey an black, as well as the entire interior. Anyway, other than that I have a real problem or more of a doubt on my hands regarding the engine and since you guys know a lot more than I do about cars, I'd like to ask for your knowledge.

My engine has 160k on it (allthough it has high mileage, it runs so good that the only way to know if the car is turned on is to sit on the hood, get close to the muffler or lift the hood) and I wanted to turbo it or nitrous it, but I heard that the extra strain on my engine (due to it's high mileage) would eventually make it collapse, and I want to make this engine last allthough I want to swap it for a 6 cyl.

There's a few more questions:

1 After I swap to a 6 cyl:

-Can I use the turbo or nitrous parts from my old engine on my new one?
-Will the swap be easy?

2 With my current 4 cyl:

-Can I swap the transmission without changing this engine or do I have to change the engine as well?

What's the most powerful engine I can put into my car (96 camry LE)

Sorry bout all the questions.

Thanks Guys!!!

the bottom line, if you want speed and want it to last long, you need to do an engine swap that comes with turbo and alot of potential (3S-GTE). With V6, you're limited although you do get the speed, u lose out on fuel. You can supercharge it or have custom turbo made for your V6.

I suggest you read the following discussion:

http://www.toyotanation.com/viewtopic.php?p=71267

and do a search on: 3S-GTE, and look for posts by "Wraith"

Yeah I definetly want speed and torque, but I thought U could only accomplish that with a 6cyl, thanks for the enlightment man.

I do have a heavy soundsystem, but with a powerful engine it doesn't matter, it's not like I'm gonna drag race, just enough power to humilliate a few honda's.

So all I need is a 3S-GTE, that's a 4 cyl right?

I heard that U can drop in an MR2 Turbo into my car, is this true???

thanks MAN

MR2 Turbo engine = 3S-GTE (4cyl. "T" = Turbo)
MR2 Non-Turbo engine = 5S-FE (your camry 4cyl engine)

Yeah, the 3SGTE swap would be the best choice. You'll need the engine, tranny, ECU and harness. If you can find a front clip of a MR2 Turbo then buy that. Good luck.

How about a middle clip?

MR2's are suppose to be mid-engine.
