Earlier today, I started up my Camry and a big cloud of smoke came out of the exhaust. If it helps, it was the first time I started the car today. What could be the problem(s).
Could be bad valve seals or rings. Or when the car was stored the owner put a teaspoon of oil in each cylinder to keep it from seizing. What car was this?
Try using the "no smoke" treatments. If that doesn't fix the problem then try your mechanic. I burn about 1/4 to 1/2 a quart every 3k miles, so I don't really feel the need to have it fixed to save 2 bucks of oil every year.

Alex, was oil leaking from underneath the car too?
If oil is leaking from underneath the car you got problems elsewhere.

Also, what "no smoke treatment" did you use?
Try Bardohl's No Smoke. It looks like 1000W oil (its thick).
I've seen it at Autozone and my buddie and I were making fun of it. I said damn you don't piston rings if you pour this sh*t in your engine.
Anyways my 3S-FE puffs out a cloud of blue smoke on start up. It only does it when the engine the cold.
The puff of blue smoke is from worn valve seals. They go bad overtime and allow oil to seep pass the valves into the combustion chamber were it gets burned up (blue smoke).
If its not using up alot of oil I wouldn't worry about it unless it bothers you.
