Unhappy KYB Strut Boots Fitment

Anyone here put KYB boots on KYB GR-2 struts? If so, how the @^%$ did you get them on? I can't seem to get the bumper part down the piston.

Any help here would be appreciated. If I'm just supposed to force them on with blatant disregard for life and limb, let me know.

1. line up hole in bumper with piston

2. push down

3. push harder?

4. grind out hole if way too small or if you have girly arms.

Seriously, how did you get it on? The ID of the bumper/boot top is about 1/4" smaller than the OD of the piston. It's the right part and all four of them are the same

I could grease it, put the mount on top and bash it with a mallet, but there has got to be a better way. I would have thought that the fit would be such that you could just slip it on with minimal force, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

No girlie arms, btw.

Well, it wasn't a matter of force, just lithium grease and a long flat screwdriver. Yippie.
