Went to dealer for a Vibration/Shaking effect and after they balanced and rotated tires, changed tires and wheels from another car and now it drifts to the left, especially at highway speeds. I know there's a NTHSA log on Camry's doing this and Toyota not finding a fix for it , but has anyone had a solution from there own mechanic or dealer ? This is unsafe for us drivers, and wears out the tires. I've read that the springs are the area of defect.I'll be on a lo
my cousin had the vibrating steering wheel when he needed a HUGE alignment. He hit a curb pretty bad. As for the steering to the left, mine steers to the right and its because it needs an alignment. If they aligned it and it still goes to the left, take it back. Its not done properly. Same thing happened to me.
Switch the 2 front tires/wheels with each other. If the car now pulls to the right you have found the problem. The tire (formally on the left) which is now on the right has what is known as a radial pull. The belts shift internally inside the tire causing this problem. The only cure is to replace the tire. If the car continues to pull to the left, the problem is in the alignment or the suspension components.
Acoording to he NHTSA TSB's Alignments did nothing to solve the drifting to the Left problem.
The vibration has gone away and the right[driver side] rear tire was 2 PSI below all the other 3 tires. I put air in it to match the PSI on the other 3 adn the vibration came back. The drifting to the Left was lss than before. Shop Foreman asked me to go where I bought it adn get the tires replaced. Sounds to me like he pasing me away from his fault.
kasimmmmm: nice paint and tint: what color is the exterior ?
The TSB is ST002-04 and applies to the Solara, Camry and Avalon - Issued on Feb. 4, 2004.
It instructs service to rotate the upper spring seat and if it still pulls left then to increase the right front camber and decrease the left front camber.

Good Boy: Thats what I'm talking about guys. The TSB says it all. Drove car tonight and steering vibration and drifting to the Left. Going to Dealer Monday morning. Doubt Alignment will make the difference. If they tell me its the tires, I will ask for a written note for me to give to the Toyota dealer that sold me the car.
Drove the car 500 km and the steering wheel and gas pedal vibrated at highway speeds. If I kept the speed constant, the vibration would come and go almost every 10 seconds. CV joints, wheel bearings, tires, alignment... I don't know ?
