Denso Oil Filter

I picked up a couple of these Denso oil filters today. It looks very interesting because it has a plastic wrap covering the opening and there is some grease on there already. I never saw anything like this.

Anyone use these filters before? I've never used these Denso filters before. Since I've started to work on my own car, I've always used Napa Gold filters because that is all I can find around here.

I'm tempted to cut the thing open, but I don't want the filter to go to waste...

Y'know how you're supposed to put a little oil on the gasket before you screw a new filter on? These are pre-greased.

Not sure why they felt the need, but they did.
