timing belt?

Hey guys

Where is the timing belt located on a Gen 4 Camry, Its a 4 cyclinder 5s-fe?

If you're standing in front of your car facing the motor, its on the left side (front) of the engine. Its covered by the timing cover.

Its on the left side of the engine underneath a cover (timing belt cover).

why do you have to replace the water pump too? should'nt this fall into the "if it aint broke, dont fix it" category?

If you replace your belt and then 5 miles down the road goes the pump, then you get to do it all over again. Any good mechanic will do this preventative maintance. Sure your pump might last another 50k, But then again its going to rain someday too. :cry: :o What did I just say?
