4th Generation Programming unstructions- anybody tried n was successful?

Has anybody tried using the programming instruction and was successful? I had tried several times on my 99 camry, and even modify some steps but was unsuccessful to get into the program mode. it just doesn't respond. could there be any additional steps...?

4th Generation

hey skewe. i tried the instruction exactly as written, but i can't get into the program mode. do you think there's additional steps? or maybe my camry is not meant to have a keyless entry? i remember when i bought the car, the dealer asked whether i will buy the VIP security system option for a considerable amount. could it be that they disabled something?

thanks!
