Are axle remans as good as OEM???

I'm beginning to think that I have at least one drive axle on my 1997 V-6 Camry that needs replacing. Since I only want to do this once, I want to put a quality part on the car. I'm sure OEM will cost more, but is it worth it??? Also, does the end that goes inside the trans case have the little snap ring on it? I was reading old posts last night and it sounds like to get it out, you have to pry it out to compress a small wire ring on the end of the shaft. Does this sound correct? I will most likely remove the one bolt and two nuts at the bottom of the control arm to allow the strut to swing out far enough to remove the shaft. Any additional help or links to this process would be greatly appreciated.

Grace and peace,

Robert K

Cool

Normally, yes.

I'm basing that on the fact that several people have gone through OEM and autozone'ish replacements in roughly the same amount of time.

No, the remans aren't as good. I've gone though three in a row before! And that get old, let me tell ya....

www.raxles.com

Tell 'em that Dr Tweak from Phoenix Tuning sent ya!

(BTW Raxles builds reman axles but they use all NEW joints, so it's pretty much brand new, unlike your typical AZ remans that are basically cleaned and repacked half the time).
