i was driving on our parkway couple weeks ago and i saw this, sorry for the quality...i had to rush to find the camera because the light turned green...and it was rainging

but it was a convertible gen 3 camry. never seen one before or heard of one. it was some old white lady so i dont think she had it custom done...unless she bought it from someone who did it before that? or did it come like this from the factory?

and yah im posting this now - i had of seen this like 2-3 months ago but never got a chance to post pics cuz of school

omfg i saw the same thing in ocala florida it was off of CR 200 it was red and it was like that exactly i thought i had gone crazy but i checked whit my girl and she saw the same thing

It's a cloth/rag top camry. There are a number of them out there. I've seen ONE in so. cal.

my dads caddy was a rag top also but yeah the cam that i saw looked nothing like tha rag top it looks convertible like all the way

i have seen a few convertible on eBay before.
all of them were in Florida.
Did not say that it was custom after market in the listing.

if you look at the top pic in the post, you'll see that it's baize..or tan colored. That's actually cloth or some form. They don't actually cut off the entire roof but just cover over the hard roof with the cloth.

I don't know who did it first but in some applications and definitely some other cars...it looks hot!

After googling:

ragtop:

1. Refers to converitbles--has a rag---cloth covering instead of folding or removable hardtop
2. Refers to the moon roof-- has cloth instead of hard surfarce or glass
3. What the camry pic showed...not actually a "convertible" covers the hartop-not replacing it but is after the same look.. ... nice on some some cars...tacky on others.....definitely looks tacky when it gets old.

I used to live near a camry that looks like that..i dont believe its convertible..never did have the chance to check it out..the one i;ve seen lives in sac..

Its a ragtop for sure.. there is a place here in NC that does it for like $300 for any car.. its just a piece of leather-like vinyl with padding glued on...
