O2 (Oxygen) Sensors - Replacing
So I just found out that my O2 upstream sensor needs to be replaced (my check engine light came on, I had a mechanic attach the scanner to the 2000 Toyota Camry V6 I have and it showed a bad upstream oxygen sensor).
I also did some research and it seems that the OE part for this car is a Denso 234-4622 (non-california) for the upstream sensor. However, it's a V6 so there are 2 upstream sensors from what I understand.
I would like to order the part myself and use my Haynes manual to guide me through the replacement.
Question:
All the online websites selling this part says "two required"...do I need to replace BOTH upstreams at the same time? Or can I just replace the faulty one?
The mechanic said it shouldn't take him long at all to replace it (would charge 30 mins of labor for $35)...so that makes me think it's the 1st upstream front manifold sensor that's probably bad and not the rear manifold upstream that would require me to jack up the car, etc....
Any opinions? I can try doing the voltmeter before/after like Haynes says to do to verify it's the right one to replace I guess.....is that good enough?
Thanks!
