3rd Generation Rev/Rpm Problem~~

i got a problem with my 1994 camry 5sfe automatic...

i noticed that when i let go of the gas pedal when coming to a stoplight or when i want to slow down....the rpm's would drop normally to around 1000-1100 rpms...but then when it reaches that number....the engine rev's would go up like about 100-200 rpms and then drop back down.... i also notice that when i brake as well, the car would jump about 100-200 rpms and then it would go back to normal idling...

the rev's would go up and i'm not even stepping on the gas pedal ~

even when the engine is warmed up all the way, the rev's would still go up about 100-200 rpms... then it will go back to normal..

the engine seems to idle fine at a complete stop at around 800 rpms...

any suggestions on what causes this problem or how to fix it??
i hope the tranny isnt going bad or something???

Since the idle is controlled by the IAC. I would start by cleaning it and the throttle body and see if it gets better.

seems like it only happens when youre on the brakes, could be master cylinder or the booster. if its not the IAC that is.

Wait a minute. When your driving and let go of the gas; the RPM goes up a few hundred RPM and then goes back down while your slowing down? Wouldn't that be the tranny downshifting normally??

Yeah...tranny shifting out of overdrive and downshifting into a lower gear

^^^and b/c it's an automatic it's really smooth (depending on the situation) so u might not know that it downshifted unless u watch the rpms...
