A few questions...

Alright, so I've got a couple questions.

First off, I have a 99 Camry XLE V6.

What sound systems were availiable with this from the dealership?

Where would they have placed the amplifier had it come with one?

Also, sometimes, not often, during the summer when I have my A/C running, and I pull up to a stop light, my RPMs jump low high, low high. Wtf is up with that?

And do any stores carry misc. screws and panel retainers and stuff like that? I've tried Autozone, Checkers, Pep Boys and they don't have Toyota stuff. Do I have to go to the dealership for that?

I think thats all I have for now...thanks!

Last question is dealership, maybe online. Dealership is pricy too. like a buck a clip or something.

your rpms jumping is a normal thing... mine does the exact same thing... it revs low then adjusts, sometimes goes high.. perfectly normal

as for the sound systems questions...on the gen 3 i know the factory amplifier is mounted underneath the front passenger seat (same in my dad's RX300 along with the woofer)

unless u got the "Premium Sound System" from the factory (IDK like Bose, or JBL, etc.) then it would cost alot more now to upgrade to premium sound and would be better to just got aftermarket (get some nice speakers from Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.) and install them either at the store or yourself.

I wouldn't even bother with the factory amplifier to run the new speakers because quite frankly, it just sound a little better than stock. I would recommend purchasing an aftermarket Head Unit (with a built-in amp, most do). Average aftermarket speakers + average aftermarket headunit + install (not by the dealer) = less than going to the dealer.

FYI, i got Pioneer 3-way speakers for the 2 up front and 2 rear speakers and an Alpine HU (w/built-in amp) and it still sounds great.
