I was just wondering if the short ram aem intake worked pretty good or not. I mean is it really worth 100 more dollars to get the one that goes down by the wheel well. If its only a matter of a couple hp because its gonna get some colder air then i would just go with the short ram. I just wanted to make sure that the short ram is still going to suck in cold air even when the engine warms up. I asking just because i know some people buy a short ram for other cars and it works great when you first start driving but after then engine warms up some people have said short rams will start to suck in warmer air then and you actually lose hp. So just wondering if anyone knew whats up with all this. Thanks
So putting an intake wouldn't really do anything but give you a cool sound then? It wouldnt do anything like help gas mileage? If this is so when would it do just as good to just put a k&n filter on?

Gas Mileage is a toss up too. Some say better, some say worse. For me, ill say worse.
The sound is good, ill give it that..
I have a short ram, and I have to say I'm pleased with the effects. Better throttle response, and a little better gas mileage on the highway (not in town, since it uses more fuel with more air). The sounds is great, too. A CAI would probably do the same thing, just to a larger extent. You ought to know, though, that my stock air filter was really dirty, so that's why I noticed such a big difference. Oh, also, the motor will kind of have a lurch to it after you put it on. Don't worry about that, eventually the computer will compromise for the extra air. I think it might have made my check engine light come on though...?
Gas mileage increase comes simply from having a new filter.
No intake style I have tested on my gtech has produced any real change. That includes my K&N panel filter, and no filter what so ever on a shortened intake.

So basically, which ever route i go the only real change is gonna be the sound. As long as its not going to end up hurting my performance, thats fine. I just had heard some stories about people getting intakes and because of them sucking in warmer air it was actually worse than stock.
so ranger are you saying that there is less air on the highway and more air in town?
if so imma go to tx whit my weed and walk along the highway smoking it. ultimate high im sure bush wouldnt mind
