Gen5 maintaining your warranty?

Okay so i have a 02 camry se. i want to lower it. probably just springs for right now (budget) but later on i would want to replace the shocks too.

so heres my questions:

1: would putting springs other then TRD on my camry void my warranty? i would like to get the Teins (1.7 f, so on) or maybe the Sprints (1.8 f and r, the steepest ive seen in the 4 cyl)

2: if i can put any springs on, would getting them put on by any shop also be allowed, as long as they had a license or something?

3: if i cant put any springs on, and if i were to get the TRd, would i have to buy from a certified Toyota Dealer, or could i get them from anywhere (ebay, etc)?

4: would the springs have to be put on by a toyota dealership? or could they be put on by any shop?

personally, i wouldnt care about my warranty, but my dad bought/owns the car, so i kinda gotta go with what he says, and hes die-hard warranty. so basically i can do anything to the car so long as the warranty stays in tact. please help meeeeee

From what i heard i'm not sure though if u replace anything on the car with aftermarket the warranty is automatically voided. But most of the time that's for the engine. One thing u can do but i wouldnt recommend it is that u out the springs on and then if syumthin happens u can always take them out and out the factory ones back in.

From what I hear, anything TRD does not void the warranty in any way. The parts are genuine Toyota, so you're ok.

Are you talking OEM warranty or aftermarket warranty?

If its an aftermarket warranty, read the terms of the agreement.

If its the OEM Toyota warranty, you can replace anything you want. The only way they can void your warranty is if they PROVE that a particular modification caused the failure.

Example: You replace springs - the warranty on your struts and other suspension componenets is probably compromised. Your engine/tranny/anything else warranty is intact.

Read up on the "Magnussen-Moss Warranty Act" if you want to read more.

PS. The WRX guys use this act/law all the time...

yeah im talking OEM warranty, the one from toyota that comes with the car.

so if what youre saying is true, then would any aftermarket, non toyota or non- TRD intake or exhaust component void my entire engine warranty? considering that such a modification could be linked, no matter how rediculous the explanation may be, to an engine malfunction?
