Suspension question...

ok im getting my Sprint spings/Tokico shocks put in some time next week.. and i just bought a front strut bar from ebay only cost me 20 bucks, i know those things have been discuss a million times but thats not my question.. will it mess up my car in any way? that front strut bar?.. or will it just help the handling? because i heard some thing about "oversteer?" if u put a front strut bar on? ... what exactly is oversteer? and will that happen with that cheap 20 dollar bar?

Thanks TN'ers

rear sway bar will make 1000000 times more of a diference than the strut bar will.

Two "negative" things can happen. On Some bars, it rubs against th lining underneath your hood, eventually rubbing a hole through the lining. And the second thing is that if your ever in an accident; the car was designed to react in a certain way during a front end collision. The strut bar will reduce that effectiveness because it will keep the sides from crumpling and absorbing damage.

But besides that, they are 100% fine and are a great DIY job. (10 minutes)

Ive got a ractive strut bar on my gen 3 that I installed before the car was lowered and I can honestly say it made a difference... I was surprised. Thanks for the heads up on rubbing, Ill have to rock some boro duct tape over the lining of the hood...

As for the whiteline rear sway bar, all i can say is mmm mmm gooood!

oversteer is simply the rear of the car wanting to turn more than the front... the whiteline rear bar will give you more of this, as opposed to understeer- which is a good thing. It allows the big chunky front wheel drive camry to pivot through the corner more easily, thus improving your handling.

but you cant really go wrong with an ebay strut bar- so cheap, might as well.

Strut bars and sway bars are not the same thing, don't confuse the two.
