so i bought this spray meant for cleaning your throttle body and etc.. i unhook the intake and there the butterfly thing is. the spray recommends to turn on the engine and while it is running, spray into the throttle body, working the butterfly manually. when i did this, the car stalled. is this normal? i did it again and it did the same thing. did this do any harm? i ended up cleaning it out with the spray while the car is off.. where else should i spray it in?
Take it off and clean it. Too hard to make it spotless without removing it.
If you remove it, you can clean the whole damned thing instead of half way cleaning everything in it.

also, i tried replacing my fuel filter but the nut on the bottom was way too tight. does anybody have some advice on how to do this?
after taking the top part off my fuel filter, i noticed my gas pedal sticks a little bit. it might be cuz of that or me adjusting the kickdown, im not sure. does this sound like any symptoms you guys have had?
i have done a search.. none of them talk about the screw being so tight. im just trying to see if anyone had a solution to that. dont be all ready to jump on people and tell them to search. its not like im asking, "which is the gas and which is the brake.. derrrf"
I remove the filter from the top of the engine compartment. You have to remove the air filter assembly to do this.
Make sure you have two open end wrenches to remove the filter. Use one wrench to hold the filter. Make sure the other wrench is a line wrench for the actual fuel line below. It looks different from a standard open end wrench.
It can be a little tricky to break the line fitting. The fitting is a different metal than the filter housing and over time they can stick together from the reaction of different metals.
What I did once I had it off was put a little anti-seize grease on the threads of the line fitting so the next time it wouldn't be such a pain to get off.
It is also a good idea to put anti-seize on the two bolts that hold the filter to the fender.
thanks guys... i didnt take mine off... yet.. i just opened her up and took a spray bottle of sea foam to it... I had trouble revving and spraying so i sort of sprayed and started it up to get that "smoke cloud from the muffler effect"
Mine was all white smoke so i guess that's normal?
I took a toothbrush to the body itself and i didnt get a great job... but i realize i had a crack in my coolant container so i'm probably gonna go ahead and do a flush when i figure all that out.. and while i'm doing it.. hell i'll just take off that throttle body and give her a good scrubbin
oh and i also wanna recalibrate my throttle cable because i think it might have loosened a bit so i'll mess with all that when i get time too
