I was wondering if anyone here has blackened the edges of their front headlights? If so how did they do it? Does it require breaking apart the shells and gluing them back together? Any help would be great!
I black housed a few sets including the ones on my Acccord. Pretty much you'll have to heat up the unit (either heat gun or oven), carefully pry them apart....paint the pieces you want....reheat and put it back together.
I'd recommend you put some clear RTV sillcon sealer around the lights in case it didn't reseal properly with the factory sealant. This is prevent condensation and stuff.

Whoa...its been awhile since I logged on Oct 2002 .
They won't and I think you'd do better by spending the extra money to get projectors if they make them for your year camry. (I'm pretty sure I remember seeing them)
no they dont make projectors for the 97-99 and mine are not projectors either (its a style taht they use and call projectors just like hks style mufflers etc.
DO IT YOURSELF!!! but then again cost of projectos is about the cost of what the headlight conversion is if you DIY!!!!

there is a spray paint/tint called "night shades", i used it on my turn signals but I had to remove it (which was a pain) becuase the POlice 'advised' me that if i didn't they would mark it unroadworthy. u mite wanna be careful cos im sure that tinting the headlights is wayyy illegal
