Cool DIY Y-pipe done! Turbo is ON (pics and sound)

Exhaust-I
Exhaust-II

Two things to understand:
1) The car is uber rich, having not been run on the new pump, and I haven't re-tuned the SMT-6 to compensate.
2) The only sound deading is the Turbo. No muffler/Resonator
3) It was a vad mic, so it's going to be more tinny than it really is (Live, it's deep as a mother right now)
Because of 2 & 3 it's high, raspy and loud. I'll re-use the stock resonator to get the rasp out whenever I get around with it to kill the rasp.

In actuality, the only part hanging below the frame rails is the wastegate actuator. It peeps it's head down about 1". So no, I doubt it'll ever get ripped off. Maybe next time me and my friend get together for an Import Hill Climb it might get dirty. But that's the worst I think it'll ever see.

I really like how it goes wwwweeeeeEEEEEEEE .... SSSSssssss .... ER!!! That's cool =)

In short. If you're not McElligott, Tony, or Justin,
My exhaust kicks your exhaust's ass!!!

I think you'll be surprised at how often that will hit things... I have a custom crossmember to clear my exhaust that sits about that low and it gets scraped if I'm not careful. Investigate rotating the actuator around to a different part of the turbo possibly.

Are you using a scavaging pump for the oil drain? (I hope so!)

Are you saying my straight through 2.5" custom mandrel bent exhaust with black painted side exit isn't cool?

Cool

Like I said, minus "Import Hill Climbs" we do once every blue moon, It'll never hit anything where it is. We have awsome roads, not crappy city stuff.
No, no oil scavange pump right now. I doubt it'll leak much oil anyways (even if it does). We'll find out in a few weeks.
It's not cool, you don't have yours going to a v6.

Thanks guys.

Thanks guys.
I guarantee you'll have leakage problems without a scavaging pump... My turbo had problems when it simply had a little dip in the drain line before the sump. Look into whatever pump the STS turbo guys use...

Your exhaust may be cooler, but my project is cheaper.

Cool

Dude... This cost me slightly less than $500 including the welder so far & I only need a T for the fuel injector, and a fitting to get oil from the Aux. oil pressure tap... S blocks can buy manifolds for nothing on ebay. Including adapter plates and turbo's and blah blah nearly everything is ready made.

STS needs a pump. It's what 8-10' of return? I'm doubting I'll need one so far. If it does, I'll get one on at some point.

Chalk another one up for boosted Cams. I remember when I had just the downpipe. I had to shift to neutral everytime I passed a cop.
