3rd Generation Just hit 100k

Hi all.
Well, my 95 camster rolled over to 100k miles a few days ago. So my question, is it true that it's better to use thicker oil on cars with higher miles? Is there any service I should perform on my car to prolong the life apart from changing the oil and filter as usual?
One thing i noticed was that the car jolts a bit. It did when i got it from the dealer, but they said it was an engine mount and changed it. It jolts less now but still does. Usually happen when i let go of the brake and go throttle about 35-50%. only does it from stand still. My friend rode in it ocne and we narrowed it down to either another bad mount or the clutch not catching 1st gear well. It only happens in really low speeds or like if i complete a slow corner and accelerate out. Its not like a downshift jolt, its like something hits me from under the gearshift. Hasn't really caused any problems yet but i dunno if I should consult a mechanic about it.
And one last thing. I know this was adressed on previous occasions but not exactly my question. It's about the IAT....again. thing is, mine is unplugged. I have a hole in the airbox. My neighbor has a gen 3 as well, same engine, 5S-FE and i clearly see her IAT... but mine is gone. No electrical cables, nothing. But yea...
Sorry for the long thread guys. Thanks!
-Alex

my 93 5sfe 5sp camry just rolled 238850 miles today, and i use regular 5w-30 oil and regular AC Delco oil filter. I used to listen to Jiffylube people and use high-mileage oil, they charge like $40. but make no difference to my engine, rather, it make a big difference to my wallet. a faithful 3k oil and filter change interval will keep the 5sfe engine happy for a long time.

3rd Generation just rolled over 415K

I tend to use thicker oil like 20w50 castrol gtx and the normal toyota oil filter..to help out the compression.. but it do effect gas mileage a little..
well just depends on you.. some people i guess just created what they call higher mileage oil, its just a bit better if you use it all the time.. it got some additive built-in the oil..

You're fine using the spec oil, 10w30, on warmer climate, can do 5w30 if winter time.

Just follow 3,000 mile rule, cheap oil, new filter, you're good to go.

Other pointers, do a search, should tell you what you need to watch out for.

Good luck and your Camry should bring you another 100,000 easy. Your wallet will love you for it.
