Camry & Solara LoungeDiscussion area for every generation of Toyota's family car, the Toyota Camry. Lexus ES250/300 owners welcome! Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance and more.
I've already used the SEARCH option for the following topics, so don't jump to conclusions and call me a n00b BTW, I have a Haynes manual on hand, so maybe that can help and someone can point me to the correct chapter/pages
1)
A couple powered options have suddenly died in my car, and I'm looking for some answers before I start ripping my door apart. The things that are gone include: driver-side power lock (swtich not moving when I depress either of the door-side button) and passenger-side power window (will not move when either driver or passenger buttons are depressed). All other locks and windows work fine, but it's just these singular issues Anyone got ideas where I should start checking first?
2)
I read the Camry sticky concerning the procedure on coverting corner lamps (i.e. "parking lamps") into signal/blinker lamps. However, the steps seem a bit inadequate (sry 88LE...not to say your steps are completely useless ), so I was wondering if anyone had done this and maybe had more detailed steps or even pics. If no pics, then maybe I can be the first to document it.
That is all for now. Hopefully someone can help me out? THX!
The power locks, power windows, power seats and moonroof are all protected by a 30A (pink) fuse under the drivers dash. Since some of your features are working, the fuse is okay.
With the passenger window, I think its a wiring break in the door joint boot. Try operating the window with the door closed, half open and full open to see if the broken wire is intermittent. Search the threads there's instructions on how to repair.
The door lock I dunno, you'll have to take of the door panel to see if the probelm is mechanical or electrical. Could be the wiring, switch or the solenoid.

88 LE's parking light conversion works like a charm. I did on my Camry, it's the best and easiest solution out there. No need for relays. I also did it on the hamsterman's SpectraBlueHamster.

^ sorry....like I said, I'm not saying that your instructions were unhelpful. It's just that I was unable to find other posts involving the conversion. I never meant to dis your instructions....not to a guru like you But thanks for the linked post excellent pics
one more quick Q about the lights. What kind of bulb did you use? was it a double filament? after the conversion, is the light able to stay lit even when it's not blinking? it's just that I want it to be like the "parking light" and then only flash when the blinker comes on. I hope you guys understand what I'm saying
thx for the help....more opinions/suggestions are welcome!

The bulbs were not changed.

The parking lights still function like normal. All your doing is rewiring it, so that it also functions as a blinker.
