I've got a 92 Camry 2.2 automatic. I heard you can flush or drain the system while the car is running. I beleive you disconnect one of the automatic transmission cooling lines from the radiator, start the engine, and as fluid is pumping out, you are adding new fluid. You continue this process untill the fluid coming out is real red. I don't think this car has had a fluid change for many moons and I want to get all of the old fluid out of the torque converter. I've heard this is how you do it.
Anyone that has experience doing this, please tell me the following and any other tips I would need to know:
1.) Which cooling line do I remove, right or left?
2.) Do I need to plug off where the line connects to the radiator?
3.) How much fluid do I need to have on hand to get all of the old stuff out of there.
4.) Do I need a second person in the car while it's running to change gears so as to open and close the different functions of the valve body.
Please, somebody chime in on this I need help bad.
Thanks to all,
Rick
