SO I'm looking to swap out my 2.2ltr automatic hampster for a 5spd V6 and I am wondering if the engine from the Lexus ES300 fits into the engine bay. or maybe the question should be this: is the engine bay on the 4cyl camry and the 6cyl camry the same size? I don't see why it would be different but I want to get some opinions before I purchase an engine. I am formerly a honda guy but I am looking to make a good touring car so I picked a camry but found it to be lacking in the power and modablity department. My Camry is a 1993 LE.
Also...if the engine fits...what other parts from the lexus will fit too because I would love to swap over some parts. but I sadly couldn't just afford the lexus or a v6 camry. please help me!

Do a search. This topic comes up once every 25 topics or so -- seriously. I think there're a couple guys on here that actually did the swap (four banger to V6), although I don't think the ES300 conversion is as "Easy". Do some research.
would it be able to just drop it in for example a weekend project....i've been thinking of doing this because for the cost to swap my v6 to an manual i could pick up this motor with everything and most likely install it for the same price.....this will only happen if my motor completely dies and from the looks of it that wont be anytime soon

not in a gen 3 no, the 3sgte will be as hard as any major engine swap. if you go v6 (3vz-fe), get a whole clip, get the ecu, drive shafts, front brakes, also going manual means youll want to get all the clutch hardware too, or tis going to be a pain in teh ass sourcing manual camry hardware after.
edit: turbo the 2.2 for $400 in parts and a weekend of labour.

ebay a 3sgte manifold and turbo, the rest do it yoruself (oil lines etc)
the 3sfe and 5sfe can use 3sgte parts to some extent.
you will NEED mechanical know how though. otherwise its going to cost something like 2 grand becuase youll be paying LABOUR costs to someone else

It's easier to work on the 5s-fe than swapping out for a different motor. That's just my opinion.

people....the pictures of your rodded up 2.2ltr engines are nice. but my problem is I am looking for LOTS of power...talking 3-400 HP here. I have also not been able to find parts for the 2.2ltr anywhere AND mine has 170,000 on it so something like a turbo kit would kill it. Thats why I am lookjing into something like a 3S-GTE because it comes with a turbo and has MASSIVE potential. Unless you guys know something about the 5S-FE that I don't....and I'll bet you do.
