Hey man, well, if you wanted to get you wanted your tires to be low profile, meaning that there is a decrease in tire height from the rim to the top of the tire, then the lower the aspect ratio in P225/50R16 the lower the profile. So yeah P225/50R16 would be a better choice than the P225/60R16. If you wanna calculate the aspect ratio height for each tire size, just take the aspect ratio as a percentage in this case 0.5= 50% ex) P225/50R16 and multiply it by the tire width ex) P225/50R16. Hope that helps out your decision

With the wider tire would there be any problem with rubbing? everything is stock. Would the 225/50/16 fit on a 6.5 width rim??

Different tires will fit different sizes of rims. Look at the tire specs, and it should give you a range of rim widths that this particular tire would fit on. Search around for the tire size calculator to be sure that you're getting the correct diameter... I don't know for a fact, but common sense would tell me that the smaller your sidewall is, the smaller the range of rim widths it would fit on, so don't worry about a bigger sidewall, the wider rubber should more than make up for it.

personally, i would not put a 225 tire on a rim that was designed for 215. I have seen some ppl do it before and it looks weird. as far for safety concerns, I do not know it those ppl have blown a tire or 2 during a sharp and fast turn. Logically thinking, it would not be that safe.

I would not do that.
reducing ur profile, from 60 to 50 is no problem. Need to worry about speedometer and speed cos that change will throw off the speedometer.

thanks for all the help. I found out that with the 225/50/16 you would need a rim width of 7.5. but it seems that it ok for fit 225/55/16 on a rim width of 6.5. The only thing I'm not sure of is a rubbing problem.
