Hey everyone. I have a bone stock 99 camry 2.2 4cyl automatic. Around 100k miles with up to date maintence. Recent problem im having is when coming to a stop the car will sometimes stall. Every once out of 3 stops itll stall. Than i can start right back up and drive off. Runs good, no smoke or missing. Had a knock sensor code so i replaced the sensor, but still does it. Any help, id appreciate it. Thank you.
tried with my miata but it died and can't start ... reason for low battery charge ... and reason for that was the alternator , it died ~ since everytime it stop for likes the brake uses electricity ... but if urs can start right up ... i dunno ... just an experience that might be useful for you ~
Thanks for the fast replies. I read about the EGR bypass... the IAC cleaning... and the ECT sensor(engine coolant temp) causing it. Im going to try those tips today. Ill keep posted...
Sounds like your egr valve. Have you been going about 40mph before stopping? Usually with an egr it will stick if you go about 40. doing 25 and then stopping isnt enough for it to stick. Try that and the golf tee in the valve.

Update.. checked the resistance on the IAC and everythings within spec. I removed the IAC and cleaned it. Also cleaned the TB with carb cleaner. Reinstalled and drove it around for bout 10 minutes. Stopped at a light, and it kinda jerked alittle ready to stall... but didnt. Went to a store for about 5minutes with car off, went and started it, let it idle in P and it started to stall. Idle was jerkin below 100rpms and it stalled . Than it wouldnt start. Cranked it couple times THAN if fired up and ran like a champ like it always does. Sooo dont think cleaning the IAC worked, but it was dirty!! Trying to do EGR bypass right now. I also found something that i dont think is normal. Theres 2 sensors on the thermostat housing(or the housing where the upper radiator hose goes). Think those are my ECT senors. The both of them areplugged in, but the one of the left, i can turn the top half of the sensor where the connetor plugs in. Basically from the plastic part of the sensor and up i can turn. Dont know if thats normal or not.. dont think it is. No CEL or codes. Anybody know what sensor that is?? But, until then, ill do the EGR bypass...

Mine didn't throw a code with the egr valve. Cheapest, easiest to check. I dont really know what sensor you are taling about....could be the idle air control.

ahhh.. still does it. Just idling itll die. I unplugged the modulator, than egr hose, and still dies. Its weird. ITll ildle fine than just drop and die. It does it more often with the AC on.
It must be your idle air control. I can't think of anything else...
