4th Generation How to increase Transmission performance on A/T?

I have a 1999 Camry LE i4 A/T. You can upgrade clutch and gear and short shifter in M/T to increase the performance in "shifting", but how can you upgrade the performance for a A/T? Doesn't mean headers and turbos, but just the performance on the transimission itself. Thanks.

i'm sure you can upgrade the clutch on your a/t too and you will gain some better shifting from that. otherwise, you can just consider a 5-speed swap.

Cool

You upgrade the clutches in an A/T when they are worn, or not grabby enough and there is slipping.

What you want is a valvebody modification.
IPT does fine work. Never delt with them, but Tony and a million other people have, and John seems knowledgeable about seldom modified transmissions.

Cool

You can also adjust the kick-down cable. Search my name and quicker transmission shifting. That doesn't increase the fluid pressure at high throttle... So it is no substitute for a valve body rebuild.

omg the howstuffworks page just overwhelmed me ~

so ... isn't valve the part above engine ? how is that transmission ? and what's kick down cable ? to increase the performance of a/t ... while i dun even know if that's something do-able ... would be decreasing the lag between shifts in a/t ... shifting at a more efficient rev ... those kind of stuff ... ?!

edit: omg i just did the search and found those 5 posts u made ... gonna read them now
