Power Door Lock/Window Problems

I have a '95 LE Camry with power door lock and window problems. On the drivers door, the power door lock switch will not lock any doors. It unlocks all the doors just fine. I have to reach over and use the passenger door lock switch to lock all the doors. However, on my aftermarket remote start with a key-fob, it locks the doors just fine. Does that rule out a bad wire? I want to pull the whole harness out to inspect it but it seems like no easy task.

Everyone talks about replacing wires in the harness. Has anyone here ever done this? I don't know how you get the whole harness out of the door to inspect the wires.

Also on the drivers passenger window, it goes down just fine, but sometimes it will not go back up with either switch.

What does a replacement harness cost? The car is in very good condition and I don't want to get rid of it but these little things are annoying me. I know there are several posts regarding these problems but no one ever says if they fixed their problems. Any pictures or information will be greatly appreciate in resolving my problems.

it is the contacts on the switch, you have to pull it out and file the contacts under the switches to make it work. same thing with you passenger window....easy fix...just take time and a few emery boards

Ok, I have taken out the whole master assembly with all four window switches and the door locks. How exactly do you get to the contacts you are discussing?

if you pull off the top plastic cover (not the switches themselves) there is a little arm that makes contact for the driver side window to move. CLEAN THE CONTACT THERE. put it on the car and ry it out...it may take 2 tries
