Strange Problem between 60-80 mph

I just noticed today on the freeway that between 60 and 80 mph my 1992 Camry LE V6 Wagon gets very loud. It's not a certain noise it makes, it just seems like a lot of road noise is audible inside the car with the windows rolled up. But when I turn the wheel to the right slightly it will get quieter. I know the transmission has symptoms of possibly going soon but I don't know much about cars and don't know if the tranny would have something to do with it or if the wheels need to be balanced or what. Any info would be great.

Sounds to me like your wheels (All 4 of them. Dont just do the front) need to be balanced. You should deffinetly get an alignment if you haven't in a while. That should fix the problem. This topic has been discussed many times before.

I just recently purchased the car so I don't know exactly when the tires were replaced but they seem fairly new. I had someone look at it and they jacked up the back and spun around the back wheels and the back right wheel makes a noise when you spin it. He said it is the hub bearing. Is this hard or expensive to do?

Sholdnt be to bad excpet for the fact the bearing is going to have to pressed in and out. IF you are mechanically inclined you can take the entire hub assembly off. Call around to some of you rlocal parts stores and ask if the press bearings. You are going to have to try Carquest, NAPA, etc. Dont think autozone or oreilly's does stuff like that. Can probably buy the bearing for 50 bucks or less and anoth 30-40 to ahve it pressed. I am jsut guessing on the these prices. I have not had to actually do it myself but if you take it to have it done I would think you will pay in the neighborhood of 200 bucks.

i had it checked out and it turns out it was the hub bearing. it turned out to be more expensive because i had to get it from a toyota dealership because for some reason the auto parts stores in my area don't carry it for a 92 wagon with ABS. i have the part now and ill be putting it on tomorrow. thanks
